I.A.B. students from 4th, 5th, and a 6th grade student from E.A.B. went to a Camp in Canada for 15 days in March. It was full of great experiences. During two weeks Mexican students integrated to The Children’s World Academy school activities every day. This school belongs to the I.B. program and it was really useful for children and teachers to see the way Canadian students and teachers did their daily activities and developed the attributes and descriptors of the IBO program.

Mexican students were confident and independent when presenting their conferences to different groups around school about our country. They were really enthusiastic and open-minded meeting new students, appreciating their culture and traditions. Canadian children and teachers demonstrated also a lot of appreciation and curiosity in learning about our culture and lifestyle.

We visited beautiful cities like Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. In all of them everyone enjoyed the most of it. In Montreal we visited St. Joseph´s Oratory of Mount-Royal, the Old Port, and the National Museum of Social and Human History. During our visit to Ottawa we had a wonderful tour to the Canadian Parliament and in Quebec we walked through its typical streets and saw The Chateau Frontenac. Children had a lot of fun skating, going to the movie, bowling, and of course shopping in different malls.

It was an excellent experience that improved children´s self-esteem and as an IB school teacher, I´m sure it developed our international mind.
